Renewal As a Way of Life
Two of the amazing things one learns on the path of life are that things are never as they seem and that nothing stays the same. Insisting on truth in reality is hard work, like rowing upstream, while the status quo is a myth that kills growth and initiative while it SEEMS like a safe path. The truth is, if you are not growing and changing, you are dying. Therefore, in a small way, I have initiated change and renewal by this simple blog.
Having lately retired from a 30 teaching career, I have been looking forward to maintaining the status quo by sitting around, remembering the good times with friends, gathering my Social Security checks, and traveling with my husband to faraway places.
I quickly found out that sitting for long periods is not good for the shape of the posterior, that many of my friends have moved away to retirement villas, or to the homes of reluctant children, or to their heavenly home, and SS checks won't even pay the bills, much less buy me an exotic cruise!
Hence, this blog. I want to use this space to renew my thoughts about life and the nature of reality; I want to renew my environment and spaces; and finally, I want to use my hobby of renewing furniture to help others renew their living spaces as well. Each of us has a God-inspired and pure desire to find truth and beauty. Those are the two elements that will renew our lives and our environment. The search begins.
